- When emailing the registrars what do I need to include in my email?
- 1. What is the Huntertown Lions
Soccer Club?

- This is a recreational/instructional
youth soccer club hosted by the Huntertown Lions Club.
- 2. How long has the club been in
existence?

- We have been playing organized soccer
for over 18 years.
- 3. I don't live in Huntertown, in
fact, not even Allen County -- can my child still play at Huntertown?

- We are open to any child who wishes to
play. We do not have boundaries.
- 4. When & where are the
practices? What about the games?

- Practices are set by the team coach,
but are typically for one hour on weekday evenings during the Fall &
Spring season. Practices run during the playing seasons and for
the 2 or 3 weeks prior to season starts. Games are hourly on
Saturdays from about 8:00 AM until about 2:00 PM. Each team
typically has only one game each Saturday. ALL PRACTICES AND
GAMES TAKE PLACE AT THE SOCCER FIELDS BEHIND HUNTERTOWN ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL. Click
HERE and/or
HERE for MAPS.
- 5. Is this a travel league?

- While our club is focused on instruction and
recreational play, it's not uncommon for a travel team called the
Huntertown Hurricanes to be organized from our players. Contact
Cris Dillman for more information..
- 6. How much does it cost to play
in the league?

- We make every effort to be affordable
and accommodating for all interested players while also avoiding the
continuous plague of fundraising sales, etc. The cost for the
Fall and Spring seasons is $65 with the opportunity for coaching
parents to reduce that fee to $45. Special needs are handled on
a case by case basis by the Soccer Board.
- 7. Does the fee cover play in
BOTH the Fall and Summer Seasons?

- 8. With whom is the Club
affiliated - The Plex?

- We are a member of the Indiana Youth
Soccer Association (indianayouthsoccer.org).
While we encourage players to build their skills through the Indoor
Soccer season at
The Plex and throughout the year with other quality playing
venues, Huntertown Soccer is not affiliated with nor does it
explicitly endorse
The Plex.
- 9. What factors should I consider
when deciding to sign my daughter up for an all girls team or on a Co-ed
team?

- If your daughter leans more toward the
side of being delicate and/or is primarily interested in a lot of
playing time in a more genteel atmosphere, we recommend an all girls
team. However, if you and your daughter desire a more
challenging and perhaps rougher level of play, she is certainly
welcome to participate on an age appropriate co-ed team.
- 10. What process does a person
have to go through to become a referee or a linesman for the Huntertown
Soccer league?

- Referee
training typically takes place
during the first quarter of each calendar year. We ask that
referees be at least 13 years and 6 months old. Referees are
required to undergo 16 hours of training and must then pass a 100
question exam. Cost of the training and exam is $55.
Contact Mike Pressler at 484-2463 during late Autumn for more
information or to sign up.
- 11. I've talked to a coach and she
wants my child on her team, can we simply register and join that team?

- With more than 500 kids playing soccer
each season and with our focus on the children and their families
having a good experience with our club, it's a little more complicated
than that. We need to ensure that the number of players on each
team is balanced. We also must be certain that we have enough
uniforms in the right colors for each child. These are just two
of many reasons why we need all roster changes to pass through our
Registrars. They can be reached
here.
- 12. How old does my child have to be before he/she can play at Huntertown?
- 13. My child has a friend that plays on a team at Huntertown.
Can my child be added to their friend's team?
- Yes, but you must register them together.
- 14. If we missed the fall registration deadline last year, can we play in the spring?

- We maintain a waiting list with team openings subject to availability.
- 15. If we played on one team last year, can we stay together as a team and play again in the fall?

- Yes, see Team Registration rules.
- 16. How many special requests do you honor? What are special requests?

- A few each year. Contact the Club President here
if you think you have one.
- 17. Our children are interested in playing soccer, however we can not afford to enroll them. Does your league offer any aid?
- 18. What type of program is Huntertown Soccer?

- Recreational/Instructional
- 19. How often do the teams practice?

- Usually one hour, Once per week.
- 20. Can my child play on two different teams at Huntertown?

- 21. My daughter has never played soccer before. Should we sign her up for an all girls team or a coed team?

- All girls is a good starting point.
- 22. My child
was on a team last year and did not like the coach. Can he/she be placed on a different team?

- Please place a note on the registration
form. We want to make your Huntertown Soccer experience a good one.
- 23. My child loved their coach last year. Can he/she be on that team again?
- Yes, but only if the team registers together.
- 24. What happens if we sign up in the summer, but after the first game, my child does not want to continue to play?
Do we receive a refund?

- 25. When emailing the registrars what do I need to include in my email?
